the quaint project of understanding / being and dead are not at odds / hymnself decays, but at least with tenderness / returns a little less gloomy out of touch with time we created / nostalgic for sleep / thanks given for wrested wishbone consciousness / hearts differ and repeat differently / a liver doing the living / stillborn and still born / starlit sky and ankle-deep fog / singularity, centerpiece / between our utopias/ a desire to please produces placebo lagniappes / dramas of the gap / pouring water at night / oath guided breath / into the warm blue we call we / a mouth that meets the mind it is making / completion seeking possibility /developed by sound / surrendered by voice / blank mortal recipients of sacrifice / becoming gods who apologize
